The contract is made between the person hiring Tarth-y-Môr, You, and the owner of the property, Us. The terms and conditions of the contract are as follows:
1. Person making the booking
You, as the person signing the booking form, must have the authority of all persons included within the booking to agree to the Terms and Conditions. You must be a member of the party and must be over the age of 18. Bookings will not be accepted from parties of young people under the age of 18.
2. Deposit, Payment and VAT
Unlike other companies, WE DO NOT CHARGE A BOOKING FEE. Bookings however, are to be accompanied by a deposit, which is made up of one third of the rent, plus the cost of cancellation insurance, should you wish to insure your booking. We do not insist on cancellation insurance, but it may be a consideration for you. The balance of the rent must be paid 56 days, or 8 weeks, prior to the date your holiday is due to begin. If the booking is made less that 56 days, or 8 weeks, before that date then full rent is payable on booking. Non payment of the balance under the above terms will be construed as a cancellation by you. There is no VAT charge. Where it is payable, the tax is included in the weekly rent. Should the tax vary, we reserve the right to amend the rent.
3. Small Party Discounts
Although Tarth-y-Môr is a substantial, four bed roomed house, we would also encourage couples, small families and solo guest to visit us. We offer a Small Party Discount. Small Party shall mean parties of one to two people. Children under the age of 2 are not included within the definition of a small party member. Details of small party discounts are as published within the site. Small party discounts are not available on winter short breaks.
4. Your Obligations
Whilst we accept that accidents do happen, you must agree to pay for any breakages, losses or damage to our property before the end of your holiday.
We would expect you to take all reasonable steps to ensure the proper care of the property, and leave it in a clean and tidy condition at the end of your holiday. Particular attention must be given to the kitchen, ensuring that all equipment and utensils are left clean and tidy. You will be responsible for any additional cleaning costs incurred. You must allow us access to the property to carry out any urgent maintenance and repair. Our requests for access the property will be reasonable and includes access to individuals, other than us, who have our permission to enter the property for the above reasons.
You must not sublet or share Tarth-y-Môr with any person, other than those identified within the booking. The maximum number of persons allowed to stay at the property will be as identified within the initial booking. We reserve the right to terminate your holiday, without notice or refund, if you breach this, or any other, of our Terms and Conditions.
5. Our obligations
Our obligation is to ensure that
Tarth-y-Môr is maintained to the highest specification and standard to ensure your comfort and complete holiday experience. We will do all that is reasonable to provide for your needs before, during and after your holiday. We are proud and careful of our company branding and values and will actively protect our reputation. We will strive to continue delivering luxurious, self catering holidays by upgrading and modernizing the property and the service we provide. Our further obligations are contained within these Terms and Conditions.
6. Dogs
We are proud of the condition and specification of our property, and aim to maintain this standard for the benefit of all our guests. We accept however that some people may like to bring their dogs along. We welcome 2 dogs at Tarth-y-Môr, FREE of charge. The breed, and type of dog, must be declared on booking. Prior consent must be obtained for more than 2 dogs. Regretfully, we do not accept certain breeds. You will be responsible for any extra cleaning charges that may be incurred, either within the property of around the grounds, because of your dogs.
Your dogs must not, under any circumstances, be left alone in the property or be allowed on any of the soft furnishings or beds. You must provide your own blankets to protect the floor coverings. They must not cause annoyance, become a nuisance, or intimidate the occupants of the neighboring properties. You must not allow them to foul in areas of the grounds where children may play. Failure to clean after your dogs will result in extra cleaning charges. We reserve the right to terminate your holiday, without notice or refund, if you breach this, or any other, of our Terms and Conditions.
We appreciate your understanding and co-operation in our attempts to balance your holiday needs with ensuring that Tarth-y-Môr is maintained at the highest specification for everybody's enjoyment.
7. Cancellation
If you want to cancel your booking, for a non-insurable reason, you should telephone us immediately and then write to us as soon as possible confirming your cancellation. We are under no obligation to find a replacement booking, but when we receive your letter we will make every attempt to find one. If we do, we will refund any money already paid by you, less a handling fee. If we are unable to find a replacement booking, we reserve the right to retain the money already paid by you and to recover, if not already paid, the balance of the outstanding rent.
8. Non-availability of the Property
If, for any reason beyond our control, the property becomes unavailable on the date your holiday is due to begin, we will refund any money already paid by you in full. We shall have no further claims against us, or any person(s) responsible for accepting the booking.
9. Your Safety
We have made every reasonable effort to include possible safety hazards at Tarth-y-Môr in our welcome pack. Please read this and take note of our recommendations. It is your responsibility to inspect the property, and the outside area, for any other potential hazards that may pose a risk to either you or the other members of your party. In particular, please take note of the layout of the property so that you can get out quickly and easily in the event of an emergency.
10. Arrival and Departure Times
Tarth-y-Môr will be available after 4.30pm on the day of your arrival and must be vacated by 10.00am on the day of your departure.
11. Bed Linen, Towels and Cleaning Items
We
will provide the required bed linen and towels for your guests, FREE of charge. We will also provide tea towels, kitchen towels, pan scrubbers and washing machine tablets FREE of charge. Unfortunately cot lined is not provided. If you are staying with us for more than one week, fresh bed linen and towels can be provided on the middle Saturday, FREE of charge. Please let us know if you will require this service before your holiday is due to begin.
12. Welcome Hamper
We will provide a hamper of every day groceries to welcome you on your arrival at Tarth-y-Môr. This hamper is FREE of charge. If you have any request as to its contents, please provide us with that information before your arrival. All reasonable requests will be provided. There may be a charge if the additional items fall outside the normal contents of the hamper.
13. Christmas and New Year Holidays
Tarth-y-Môr is available for rent over the Christmas and New Year Holidays. We provide the normal Christmas tree and festive decorations. We will either decorate the house for you, or leave it for you to decorate to your taste. Please indicate on booking whether you would like the decorations to be made available, and whether you would like us to decorate the house for you before you arrive.
14. Greeting
We or somebody representing us will contact you on the evening of your arrival, or the following morning to ensure that you are satisfied and that nothing has been overlooked. Thereafter it is your obligation to contact us should you need to do so. In the event of you having a complaint, please follow the procedure in paragraph 14.
15. Complaints
All reasonable steps have been taken to ensure that your stay at Tarth-y-Môr is both enjoyable and memorable. If, however, you have cause for complaint, please contact us immediately, preferably when the problem arises, so that it can be resolved quickly. We would always encourage you to contact us while still staying at the house, so that we can discuss and resolve your problems enabling you to enjoy the remainder of your holiday. If your complaint is more complicated, we would encourage you to write a full and factual letter to us within 7 days of the end of your holiday. Please outline the nature of your complaint providing full and factual details. Please help us by following this procedure, which is designed to ensure diligent investigation and rectification of complaints. Unfortunately we will not consider any complaints, or enter into any correspondence in relation to them, unless this procedure has been adhered to.
16. Published Descriptions
All reasonable steps have been taken to ensure that the description and photographs published by us are honest and accurate at the time of publication, or at the time you make your booking. On occasions some small alterations or improvements will be made to the property, which will not be included within relevant publications. You will be notified of major alterations or improvements at the time of booking, or in the period between making your booking to when your holiday begins. We shall not be under any liability to you, or third parties, for any loss or damage arising from brach of contract, negligence, misrepresentation or otherwise.
17. Season to Season Advance Reservations
Tarth-y-Môr can be booked in advance from season to season on a provisional basis. This service is available FREE of charge. Provisional bookings can be made for the following season or year, or even for several years in advance. Please telephone us to discuss your needs.
18. Insurance - Holiday Cancellation and Emergency Expenses
Holiday Insurance is a consideration for you. You cannot buy Insurance from us, but we are able to arrange a satisfactory insurance premium at your request. We provide this arrangement service FREE of charge. The prices below include the Insurance Premium Tax of 17.5%.
One week - £20.00
Short Winter Breaks - £10.00
Bookings where full rental is under £250.00 - £10.00
We will only arrange this Insurance Cover at your request. Please contact us for full details of the scheme. Pleas indicate whether you would like us to arrange your insurance when making your booking.
Summary of insurance cover
1. Cancellation cost, up to the cost of your holiday.
2. Insurers will reimburse your irrecoverable travel or accommodation charges if you or a member of your party is unable to take your holiday as arranged due to any cause beyond your control, occurring after payment of the premium.
Additional Benefits
UK Helpline – Emergency assistance and expenses up to £10,000
£15 per day (maximum £75) if the beaches at your holiday destination are unfit due to pollution.
Natural catastrophe cover up to £500
Nuisance lasting over 48 hours which renders the holiday accommodation unusable, up to £500
Policy Excess
Claims for cancellation or curtailment of the holiday will be subject to a £35 excess per party, with deposit claims only subject to a £10 excess, unless the claim is a result of a pre- existing medical condition in which case the excess increases to £75
IMPORTANT cover does not apply where, at the time of booking:
The insured is aware of any set of circumstances which could reasonably give rise to a claim or:
Any person whose condition gives rise to a claim:
Is receiving, or is on a waiting list for treatment in a hospital or nursing home: or
Is expected to give birth within 14 weeks of the date of arriving home: or
Is travelling against medical advice or for the purpose of medical treatment: or
Has been given a terminal prognosis: or
Is suffering, or has suffered from, any diagnosed psychiatric disorder, anxiety or depression.
NOTE:
Cover is provided in respect of pre existing medical conditions for which the insured person has received treatment/consultation during the preceding 12 months subject to the higher cancellation excess as above.
